“Why do we call July as National Disaster Consciousness Month when in fact we should go beyond consciousness? We should not lest be satisfied na alam natin na tayo ay babahaan. Alam natin na posible ma-earthquake, alam natin na may gyera dito, doon, paminsan-minsan. Bakit hindi natin i-raise ang bar? Kaya binigyan natin ng bagong kahalagahan ang July, renamed it as National Disaster Resilience Month,” pagpasiugda ni Assistant Regional Director sa Office of the Civil Defense (OCD) XI Lenie D. Alegre atubangan sa mga department heads ug empleyado sa DavNor Kapitolyo.
Sa tema “Katatagan sa kalamidad ay Makakamtan Kapag Sapat ang Kaalaman sa Kahandaan,” dugang gipasiugda sa OCD XI ARD nga sanglit kanunay lampas sa Hulyo ang pagpabiling lig-on, angayan lang ang LGU makabalo sa maayong pamaagi sa pagdumala, palig-onon pa ang Disaster Risk Reduction (DRR), pirmeng andam ug epektibong mohatag ug dali, lig-on nga tabang pananglit adunay kadaot.
Ilawom sa Provincial Disaster Risk Reduction Management Office (PDRRMO) migahin ang administrasyon ni Gobernador Anthony del Rosario (AGR) ug igong pondo aron mamenosan ang kadaot ug labing importante walay kinabuhing makalas atol sa kalamidad.
Regular na nga bisita sa Davao del Norte ang baha matag tuig.
“It is true that we cannot stop natural disasters, which seriously disrupt the functioning of our communities. But, our best defense is the proper knowledge on preparedness and adaptation, prevention and mitigation. . So, the Provincial Government of Davao del Note has put a lot of investments. This is the only way to ensure that the gains we made in human development will never be reversed by disasters,” matod sa mensahe ni Gobernador AGR nga gipahayag ni probinsyal administrador Samson Sanchez atol sa convocation.
Sa panahon nga walay kalamidad, padayong gilig-on sa DavNor ang mga tig-responde pinaagi’g mga pagbansay diha sa barangay nga lebel.
“We went beyond the norms of disaster risk reduction. We pushed for ‘shared responsibilities’ between the Provincial Government and our communities by establishing our Alliance of Grassroots Responders program. With this program, we push for an integrated systems approach to governance, which features strong coordination across sectors and a delegation of responsibilities to the local level, while we help our barangays build their own resilience,” ang mensahe sa gobernador nagpadayon.
Gikan 2015 hangtod 2018, ang DavNor PPDRRMO kanunay’ng giila nga Regional XI Kalasag Awardee.
Gawas sa bag-ong mga kagamitan, lakip sa paningkamot sa probinsyal nga panggamhanan ang di pa dugay pag-apil sa kursong Bachelor of Science in Disaster Management diha sa Davao del Norte Learning Institute (DNLI), ang eskwelahan nga gipasiugdahan sa probinsya.
