DAVAO DEL NORTE is upping the ante in business and trade in the hope of making itself very visible on the radar of both the domestic and foreign investors.

Governor Anthony del Rosario said the province has been installing the right mechanisms vital for investors to reap dividends in doing business in the province, as it endeavors to be the next top grade business destination in the country.

“We have since sent the clear message far and wide that Davao del Norte is always open for business and is eager to welcome more investors,” the governor said.

The official revealed that the upbeat investment climate in the Province is shored up by relative peace, economic stability, ease of doing business, growing infrastructure network and favorable geographic location, among other qualities.

The governor touted Davao del Norte’s advantage since the province has cheap labor but its workforce is highly skilled and trainable. It can also provide convenient and economical accessibility of goods and people, while its local government units are working on making faster transactions in securing business permits.

Adding more value is the proximity of the province to the Davao International Airport and Seaport, which is complemented by two international container terminals strategically located within the province.

“This strategic position of Davao del Norte allows investors to expand their market base within the BIMP-EAGA growth cluster,” the governor beamed.

The vantage point enabled the province to accrue P8.494-billion worth of investments, topping the Bureau of Investment (BOI)-approved investments poured in the Davao region in 2014.

Though there was a noted decline in domestic and inward investments last year, the province generated a total of P1.906 billion investments from the new ventures.

Under his BEST PEOPLE development agenda, del Rosario continued instituting reforms in governance aimed at increasing the competitiveness of the province in terms of local trade and investments.

These efforts prospered when Davao del Norte received special recognition as one of the finalists in the 2017 Most Business-Friendly Local Government Unit Award Province Level 1 given by Philippine Chamber of Commerce and Industry (PCCI).

The province was also recognized as the Most Competitive Province in the Davao Region, following its climb as the 7th Most Competitive Province among 81 provinces in the country in 2017, from its previous 15th rank in 2016, as determined by the National Competitiveness Council (NCC).

The competitiveness, beauty, bounty and all of the Province of Davao del Norte will be put on full display in vivid colors during the Kadagayaan Festival 2018, in celebration of the the 51st Araw ng Davao del Norte.

The festivity is firmly supported by the Tagum Agricultural Development Company, Inc. (TADECO), Ulticon Builders, Inc. and MED 9, as the official anniversary partners.

Sponsors of the milestone of the province include the Hijo Resources Corporation, Davao Metro Shuttle, Kapalong Cooperative, Tagum Cooperative, Inc., LYR Group of Companies, Land Bank of the Philippines and the Philippine Amusement and Gaming Corporation.
