Davao del Norte – The Municipality of Kapalong snatched the championship in the 1st LGBT Inter-LGU Volleyball Tournament concluded recently at the Davao del Norte Sports and Tourism Complex, Tagum City, this province.

Kapalong’s powerhouse gay team scored 15-10 in the 5th set, upsetting Tagum City to win the gay volleyball competition.

Tagum City was leading 2 sets to 1 in the 4th set of the match before falling in the hands of Kapalong’s ace spiker Joseph Eduard Nabong, who led the set in a 25 – 19 city loss.

The tournament was launched in the last week of June as part of the celebration of the 49th Araw ng Davao del Norte.

Meanwhile, the Municipality of Talaingod hustled their way in to the 3rd place after beating the Municipality of New Corella, 25 – 23 in the 4th set of the match.

Assistant Provincial Administrator and Provincial Sports Coordinator Giovanni Gulanes said the province organized the competition to promote a healthy lifestyle among the LGBT community, build tolerance and understanding for the gays and promote sports for all thrust of the province.
