Davao del Norte - All roads lead to Davao del Norte for the National MusaMan TriDavNor 2018, a standard distance triathlon top billing the celebration of this year's 51st founding anniversary of the province.

Buoyed by the good reviews of the inaugural race last year, the organizers are leaving no stones unturned in prepping up for the MusaMan TriDavnor 2018 in June 24, 2018.

Over 400 triathletes are expected to participate in the 1.5-kilometer swim, 40-km. bike and 10-km. run endurance challenge, which aims to promote a healthier lifestyle while promoting the tourism sites of the province.

The swim will start at the shoreline of the Banana Beach Hijo Resorts, the first resort in the country inside a banana plantation. Then the athletes shall pedal through the Hijo Resorts Road-Surigao-Davao Coastal Road-Pan-Philippines Highway in Tagum City that is lined with towering palm trees.

The participants finally shall navigate the Capitol Road and adjoining major thoroughfares in the city for the running stage, crossing the finish line at the Davao del Norte Sports and Tourism Complex, which is the venue of the 2015 Palarong Pambansa and 2016 Batang Pinoy National Games.

Cash prizes await the winners of this year’s multi-stage race, to wit: P40,000.00 for elite category; P15,000.00 for the team category; P6,000.00 for the relay category; and, P5,000.00 for age group category.

A specially-designed hand-made indigenous trophy is ready for the taking by the top three winners in each category.

Dubbed as “The Rising Davao del Norte Trophy”, the token signifies the rich culture, as well as diverse tribes and traditions of Davao Del Norte from island to highland.

A post from the Facebook account of the Provincial Sports and Youth Development Office (PSYDO) explained that the asymmetrical strokes and patterns of the sculpted clay highlight the success and resilience stories in the midst of challenges.

Artists took their cue from the banana, scientifically known as “musa”, which is one of the strongest and most resilient plants in the world.

The 51st Araw ng Davao del Norte celebration is supported by the Tagum Agricultural Development Company, Inc. (TADECO) and the Ulticon Builders, Inc, as the official anniversary partners.
