Governor Anthony del Rosario led the relief operations to flood victims in Asuncion and Kapalong on January 25, 2017.

“Kini para sa inyo, unta makatabang ni sa atong kahimtang diri sa evacuation center” Governor del Rosario said to evacuees at the KCAST covered court.

Provincial Administrator Samsom Sanchez with other Provincial Department Heads assisted in personally handing out relief goods to more than 200 Evacuees in Kapalong.

“Padayon gyud tang nagahatag sa augmentation family food packs sa ,mga unserved families na victims sa baha” Rosalinda Rapista, Assistand Department Head of Provincial Social Welfare and Development Office said.

As of Wednesday evening, the province is waiting for the additional augmented 10,000 packs of relief goods coming from the region.

The governor also conferred with local officials to assess the current situation of evacuation, relief operations, and readiness of Municipality, considering that this type of weather is forecasted to last until the end of February.

Many barangays in Davao del Norte has been submerged in water since Monday, as the Libuganon  and Saug River overflowed due to heavy rain cause by tailend and cold front, forcing families to evacuate to centers, with some opting to stay beside the road, erecting improvised tents, against the advisory of government officials.

The Sangguniang Panlalawigan on Wednesday afternoon approved Resolution no. 083, series of 2017, declaring the province of Davao del Norte under State of Calamity.
