Davao del Norte got a score of perfect 10 from the Philippine Sports Commission (PSC) for its superb hosting of the highly-successful Batang Pinoy 2016 National Championships.

“We are so happy in the Philippine Sports Commission that if we rate our host Davao del Norte, I would say that [from the scale of] 1-10, we can rate them 10… Davao del Norte is something we could be proud of”, enthused Commissioner Celia Kiram, during the closing ceremonies at the Davao del Norte Sports and Tourism Complex.

Kiram reiterated the gratitude of the PSC to the province for readily accepting the hosting of the BP Games even with short notice.

She bared the Commission’s outlook of holding future sporting events in the province, given Governor Anthony del Rosario’s willingness to host big competitions organized by the PSC.

“We are looking forward to many more sporting events to be held here in Davao del Norte,” Kiram added.

Del Rosario thanked everyone for contributing to the enormous success of this year’s Philippine Youth Games, which was successfully conquered again by Cebu City, with a harvest of 42 golds, 30 silvers, and 30 bronzes.

He expressed the eagerness of the province to host more top-level tournaments consistent with his efforts to make Davao del Norte the sports-tourism hub of Mindanao.

The governor also drummed up excitement for the Philippine Olympic Committee-Philippine Sports Commission National Games (PNG) for 17-years-old and above, which will also be hosted by the province early next year.

“I hope to see you once again next year,” del Rosario said, as he further bared that his administration is also keen on hosting the National Triathlon Competition in 2017, the Brunei-Indonesia-Malaysia-Philippines East Asia Growth Area (BIMP-EAGA) Friendship Games in 2018, as well as, the Southeast Asian (SEA) Games in 2019.
