Davao del Norte’s Provincial Development Council (PDC) approved the P526 million funding for the Annual Investment Plan (AIP) of the province for 2017.

The plan is divided into the economic, environmental, social, ug governance clusters, which are the priority of the new administration of Governor Anthony del Rosario.

“We formed our priorities into four clusters, the governance cluster, economic development cluster, the environment cluster and the social development cluster. These four clusters are basically the priorities that we are pushing for,” Governor AGR said.

The AIP will fuel the “B.E.S.T P.E.O.P.L.E.” development agenda of the governor, which is spelled as Balanced Ecology, Enhanced Agri-aquaculture, Sustainable Tourism, Transformative Leadership, Public Infrastructure, Education and Sports, Optimum Health and Social Services, Public-Private Partnership, Link to the world, and Employment and Livelihood Opportunities.

Provincial Planning and Development Officer Engr. Josie Jean Rabanos said the funding for the AIP will come from the P1.5 billion projected income of the province next year.

She added that local projects that will not be funded by the provincial funds will get their funding from the national government, partner agencies and official development assistance from foreign countries.

Del Rosario presided the meeting with the members of the Sangguniang Panlalawigan, municipal and city mayors, provincial executives and representatives of non-government organizations.

Aside from the approval of the 2017 AIP, the PDC also elected the Executive Committee for the Council and four members of the Project Monitoring Committee (PMC), which will help monitor the progress of the provincial projects.
